Lead partner on the project, Barnfield Construction, had been working closely with the site owners for a numbers of years, both in a development management capacity, and more recently undertaking the refurbishment construction works on site to make way for the new retail occupiers.
Phase 1 consist of 3 retail units now housing retail giants Pets at Home in their 8,000 sqft unit, and both TK Maxx and M&S Food in their 12,500 sqft units.
The New Hall Hey development extends to over 14 acres and is currently controlled by West Register (Property Investments) Ltd, a division of the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Barnfield Construction have recently agreed to acquire 5.5 acres within the development and are working closely with West Register to develop out the remainder of the site over the next 2 years.
Barnfield Construction have been working hard for a long time together with the site owners on getting the retail sites occupied and they are both looking forward to making progress with the rest of the scheme.
The retail units are now provide an attractive gateway to Rossendale after being empty for around 7 years.
