Rawtenstall Bus Station Plans Consultation Update

The consultation on the new proposed plans for Rawtenstall Bus Station are still on display and available for comment until October 30th.

You can see the plans on display at Council Offices in Futures Park, on the town square in Rawtenstall, in Rawtenstall and Haslingden Library or online.

The consultation started on October 3rd with a week of public session in Rawtenstall which were very well attended.

Representatives from the RTB Partnership spent 6 days at Kay St Baptist Church and Rawtenstall Market, plus a session at ASDA, speaking to people about the plans and getting their views.

Over 300 people came to the session and 183 feedback forms were received.

Cllr Alyson Barnes, Leader of Rossendale Borough Council said; “I attended several of the public sessions, where I heard a lot of positive comments about the new proposed plans. People were pleased to hear that we had listened to their views from the previous consultation.”

Gareth Smith, RTB Board Member said; “The walk in sessions have been a great success. Because of the timescales that we held these over it gave people the opportunity to come back time after time to assimilate all the information and time to ask pertinent and relevant questions. The overall picture of the week was very bright and positive with swathes of public support and appreciation that we had listened to the people”
